Irit Abba
Irit Abba graduated from the Department of Ceramic and Glass Design at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem and teaches there since the mid-eighties. Her work has internalized a wide reach pottery culture, and during the last decade she is intensively investigating the limits of the material and porcelain. Her works refer to ancient traditions of pottery that have an interpretation that goes beyond the conversation of decorative, functional or cultural.
Irit Abba is the winner of "Andy" Contemporary Art for 2009 followed a solo show "Wheel·Period" at Tel Aviv Museum of Art. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums in Israel and abroad.
